Because, most likely, they'd use the same e-mail. And isn't it a feature in PBv4 that it shows most recent IP in profiles? What if you banned their e-mail/they use another one? And I'm not sure about that feature. If it's there, I guess that helps.

Reason I said email instead of username is because from the on out, no accounts can be created using that email, and that username can't loging
and IP only works for static IP addresses, unless the person is stupid.

Create another e-mail, create another username, and if you're on dial-up, reconnect. There you go. I guess CD has a point about having the admin confirm accounts, though.

On PB it only shows the most recent IP of the user in the user's profile.
If you ban by Username, most users won't rejoin (unless they like spamming or something) because they (most likely) won't want any other username other than the one that was banned.
There should be a way to ban by computer serial number. That'd be cool.

but your serial number would have to be accessiuble, proabably meaning it would have to be sent through a cookie, which doesn't happen. Or at least I don't think it does.

Some people have mroe then one computer. Anyway, honestly, there's no 100% way to ban a person without doing a complete global ban (*)

The best way of banning is deleting your site XD Then no one can spam/flame/hack/whatever.

But then you lose all the real members. XD
You should always just ban by all three ways. And keep doing that if they re-register. Then, eventually they'll give up.

Yeah, I agree with that, CD. Basically, you should ban by all 3 ways(you can still get around it, but its much, much tougher to). If they continue re-joining after getting a new username, e-mail and IP, just keep on banning(once you're sure it's them). Because its a whole lot easier for the admin to ban all three ways then it is for the member to keep on re-joining...they'll eventually give up.

What if one of your good members has the same IP as someone you're banning? It is possible.
