I see that some forums are having big events that seem to bring activity. We should have something like that. For instance, ZD has a debate of the week (?) board that has 3 pages, it seems to be doing well. A lot of forums have magazines made in Photoshop with interviews and the sort, stuff that like (along with frequent advertising) should help this place out. >_>

I think the problem is that people just register for the codes, take them, and go. There's a code by Uchicha in the Code Index which automatically sends a PM to new members. And no one can resist a new PM. If that PM contained something about the upcoming contests or one of the lesser-known features of the site, people might end up being more interested in the site than the codes.

Hmm thats a good idea shyv well i don't know Hatake could have a magazine but it needs editors and someone to make the main page etc. if its done it will consist of alot of work. The debate of the week seems good but on Hatake would it work? i suppose its wrth a try. Contest would be great if they had something nice as a prize and were ranged for all. But unfortunatly none of this will work if the board isnt strong overall, it will always come back to the amount of topics and graphics etc. available, Naruto needs to take action to be honest, it seems your the one who is trying to make a difference and half succeeding but Naruto and the rest of the staff will have to join in and give a hand to improve the forum overall. I hope none of the staff willtake offence for that. But in time with alot of effort Hatake will be a big forum.

Definitely. I think a debate might be interesting, but there is always the risk of it degrading itself to a shouting fight. Considering that the balance in some issues may be unfair, with say three members taking one side and six taking the other, we could end up with some pretty nasty fights. There's also the risk of flames.
A magazine would definitely be hard to put out, but even then it might not be worth the effort. I don't know how many people would bother to read it. If we do come to a point where a magazine may be a reality, we should vote on it.

Well, now that you've pointed out what you think is the problem Nomi, how would you go around to fixing it? If the debates get heated, I can always close them and/or give people a warning (even though I can't right now). The magazine won't have to be always based on graphics, it could be text stuff too (news, interviews, etc.).

I'm not sure but i think you should start up a debate of the week forum, a magazine every month maybe, which would be good for members to see how Hatake really is, maybe then Hatake will get a main stream amount of members posting, which will make the board grow overtime.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Of course, I can't actually do anything about it right now, so we'll have to wait.

I saw debate of the week at Zanmato, and it is pretty good actually. What you would need to do is set basic rules like "Do not flame others for their opinions" and stuff like that. If you do that, it should end up good. Also, try to keep the topics away from politics and religon, as hard as that may be, because it'll keep from people getting into fights more often.
About the magazine. I agree it'd be a heck of a lot of work, but I think the majority of the active members would be willing to chip in. Maybe make it DarkGamer's official magazine also, so that it'd be a broader category.
But you're right, it all comes down to Naruto's decision.

To organize big contests you would need staff help, and most of the staff never comes on(Marty once in a while, Si really never, and Naruto occansionally comes on. It's mostly SO and Ninjustu. You would need a strong active staff and have everything planned out But yeah, it's a good idea

Cddude, I think most arguments boil down to polotics. That's what most debates are about.
