1. Remove the advertise board. Yes, it's a very common board, but not necessarily needed by the board. It's the second most popular board to post topics in. 2. Get some more staff that know what their talking about (by whatever means, advertising at gaming/design sites, etc.). But make sure they have the dedication as someone like Shadowyone, who is doing a great job.

oO Get staff from other boards, thats a bit odd. There really isn't to much of need to have more staff in my opinion but i suppose its up to Naruto, who he mods or not. And the advertising board should stay since it is there so members can get opinions and comments on how they should make their board better.

Well maybe you should change the name of the board from advertise to something else so that people aren't doing it just to advertise. As to the staff: I don't mean staff from other boards necessarily, but good gamers (reviewers, faq writers, walkthrough writers, etc) that are active after they have joined. The more staff you have that write reviews (or for the coding boards make codes) the more active this place will get.

I agree that advertise forum name should be changed so people dont just abuse Hatake for advetising. And your second point makes sence but.....

As for the Advertise board, though, that's just about how HF gets 3/4, if not more, of its members (sadly). Many people are signing up just to advertise. Maybe if we put restrictions on the board, that would help. In my opinion, we really don't need more staff until this place gets more active. I agree with you that we need more people to join and focus on gaming or coding or whatnot, but until more of these people join and want to be active, having too much staff will probably be a bad thing. Those are some good points, though. This place's activity soared when DGv2 was released, but now I can see it's slowly declining (let's see what happens this weekend). I'm guessing we need some sort of motivation for people to want to stay (besides getting support or advertising).

I agree wiht ShadowyOne. NEw staff wouldn't help much, unless it was for an inactive seciton that didn't get much support before (like the Graphics division and Nomi).
Restrictions would help some, but it would annoy people so they wouldn't even bother. Part of coding, graphics, and advertising get a good chunk of the total members.

I think both you and Shadowy are misinterpreting my meaning get new staff. I don't mean just hire people for boards here and there to "moderate". I mean article writers, people who make more posts to reply to. Like in the gaming section they would write reviews, walkthroughs, FAQs, etc. Hatake would get more active because it actually would have a lot of content relating to the main purpose of the board.

Oh. I think I understood you before, but who knows. Anyway, yeah, I agree with you, but the person needs to be helpful and active for a long period of time before they become a Mod (which is what I think you're saying too, so I'm not sure why I said "but" to that).
So, I think I agree with you in the first place. The problem is getting these people who want to write stuff and be active, I think.

Heh, thanks Eric. As for the Advertise board, though, that's just about how HF gets 3/4, if not more, of its members (sadly) ShadowyOne, why does it matter that thats how we get a lot of members? If all they do is join and only post once for advertisement, it doesn't really matter if we get rid of it or not. But I say keep it.
