This is a tut of the tools in photoshop
rectangular marquee tool: creates a square image which you can fill up with color. good for creating long thick borders and squares.
optical marquee tool: creates a cricular image which you can fill up with color. good for creating smileys, orbs, and member stars.
single row marquee tools: creates a straight line across the image. you must fil it up for it to have a solid shape. it is good for creating borders that are thin and sharp.
the layer moving tool: good for moving layers around in an image or move a layer to another image who knows?
lasso tool: tool use to go around a piece of a layer and move it for your use. use for small objects or if you have a very steady hand
magnetic lasso: like the lasso tool except it connects to a certain part of the layer.
polyganical lasso tool: the lasso tool polyganical. Use to move around squares or rectangular shapes or use it for file lines. A file line tut will come soon.
Magic Wand tool: grabs a certain part of the layer with about the same color scheme and allows you to move the layer.
image crop tool: takes a piece of the image and uses it as the image while all other parts of the image are erased.
slice and slice select tools: both are used to get html from a .psd of a template and allow a table to appear to place all the images and aids in the creation of iframes.
healing brush and patch tools: used to keep and help a steady path for brushes. Not used commenly.
brush and pencil tool: the pencil tool is used to draw pixel work including smileys faces and sprites. It is very useful in certain times but not used in images that are already near to creation. Brush tool is basically split into the air brush and the paint brush. I recommend using the air brush. The brushes are used for special abstract bground effects which include tentacles and wires.
stamp tools: used in brushes to make the patterns pixels take the shape of the brushes. does not effect the bground but does effect the images cleanliness
History Brushes: a spray of certain brushes. Not used commonly and i recommend not using it unless you want to use it for a small part of an abstract image.
Eraser tool: erases a certain part of the layer and makes that part of the layer white
Magic Eraser: takes a certain part of the layer which has nearly the same color scheme and erases it to transparency.
Bground Eraser tool: used to erase pieces of the image to transparency. I use this tool to convert my images of anime characther/people to another image. can also be used as a opacity editing thing but its not wise to use to mess with opacity.
gradient tool: adds a new layered gradient to the image
paint bucket tool: adds a new layered solid color to the image
blur sharpen and smudge tools are all used to edit the way the image appears. The smudge tool will move round small pieces of the image not fully but smudgely lol. Sharpening the image will make the blur less and less. Burning it will make the image looked burned if you keep it for long enough. The blur dodge and sponge tool do simelarly the same the blur blurs the image the dodge tool gives it a slight water effect and so does the sponge.
path tools: create a path for the image to use as a base. used for brushes as well. Not used very often.
horizantal type tool: types horizantell text of any font
vertical type tool: writes text vertically
horizantal type mask tool: takes the piece of text and the bground that the text is on becomes the color of the text and it can be moved to another image
vertical type tool: does the same as the horizantal type mask tool just vertically.
pen tools: they are all used to create shapes and pieces of images with not straight shapes. not used commonly unless you want to make sharp broken edges or tentacles
shape tools: create shapes unto the image without having to fill it in.
note tools: used to remind yourself of tings to do in photoshop
eyedrop tools and measure tools: the eye drop tools find out the hex color of a certain part of an image. the measure tools find out measures of the images areas and allow you to fix them these are note used alot
hand tool and view tool: help you view the image in ways that you could usually not. these are not used commonly due to the large amounts of ways to do the same thing.

This'll help beginners at PS. Also, I think you'd want a horizontal rule and not those lines. Did you copy and paste this (I think you saved your tutorials)? ;D
