According to my save, the last time I played this game was Christmas of 2003. When I went to buy Mortal Kombat: Deception yesterday, I found out that both this and Soul Calibur II were only $19.99. So, I bought them (both, but I'm also going to be making a topic on SCII). GX has to be one of the most difficult games I've ever played. Story mode is close to impossible, but I'm still trying (forgot what chapter I was on). There's so much to unlock though. Guess I'll be busy for a while, and I'll rent RE4 and MGS:TTS during summer. I don't think I can unlock everything though, due to the difficulty requirements for some things. It's cool that you can build your own car, though. In fact, F-Zero GX is the only racer I like where the tracks are in laps and the game isn't free-roaming. Every other racing game like that sucks to me. But there's something different about this one. =P So, anyone play it?

I've never played this one,but I have played some of the others. No matter how much you play, you can never get enough of it.I once played F-Zero on my GBA as soon as I put new batteries in,and the only time I stopped playing was when my batteries ran out.
Oh well.Obsessions are unhealthy. ;D

Tell me about it. I used to play SSBM almost constantly back when I first got it.
The thing that's cool about this game compared to other track racers is, well...the tracks. There are boosts, energy refills, and some tracks even let you go 360ยบ around them (like pipes). Compared to the track versions of Need for Speed (Hot Pursuit, High Stakes, etc.), this game destroys them.

Well, for anyone who cares:
- I've beaten all of Story mode except for Chapter 9, the final one. Still haven't beaten any on Hard or Very Hard yet (the thought of trying makes me cringe).
- I've beaten the Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Diamond cups on Standard, and beat the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald cups on Expert, unlocking the Master difficulty (which also makes me cringe with fear...and frustration).
- I only have to buy four more racers, but then I still have to unlock Deathborn (beat Story mode), and (if possible) get the AX racers and the AX Cup.
I hope I don't break/kill anything while trying to unlock everything.

I guess I care, then.
ShadowyOne, tell me, what is the game about?

I guess I care, then. ShadowyOne, tell me, what is the game about? Heh. And story-wise? The story isn't THAT good, but it's decent. Basically, this game is a futuristic racer. Think of today's Nascar races; well, they've evolved. F-Zero machines can reach over 2000 km/h, and there's a Grand Prix to declare a champion and give prize money to. But then there are the characters. Everyone has a different reason for entering the Grand Prix, and a lot of characters' stories intertwine with each other. I'll give you one example. Captain Falcon is a bounty hunter who also races in the F-Zero Grand Prix. He has some enemies, because of his being a bounty hunter. He's stopped a lot of bad guys from time to time, including Samurai Goroh and Black Shadow. Now, they're in the race to get revenge on Falcon in front of millions of fans. So basically, stuff like that. Not everyone's story is as intense, but it's cool. Anyway, I've also pretty much given up on GX. I think I have most (if not all) of the GX content unlocked: I've beaten Story mode, have all 31 GX racers, all 20 GX tracks, and most (once again, if not all) GX custom machine parts. It's just too damn hard to get all of the F-Zero AX content, and I really doubt that there's an AX arcade machine near me, so I'll have to be happy with what I have. =P

what's the difference between the GC version and the arcade version? The GC version is a home console version and is called F-Zero GX, and I think it has more features. The arcade version, called F-Zero AX, has less features, but has different characters/tracks than GX does. You can download those characters/tracks/custom machine parts onto F-Zero GX by putting your GCN memory card into an F-Zero AX machine. If you can't do that, you can still get AX content -- the hard way. That means having to beat all Story mode missions on Hard and Very Hard (as if they weren't hard enough on normal), and beating all of the Grand Prix cups on Master difficulty. >_<
