Okay, I know Psionic has an E3 topic, but I just felt I had to make another one solely on the next-gen consoles...hope you don't mine, Psionic. Here's some stuff I've found out.... - E3's being hosted in Los Angeles from May 17-20 (I'm pretty sure...maybe 18-20, but I saw info on stuff yesterday). - The names for the next-gen consoles (as if you didn't know) are: Nintendo Revolution Sony PlayStation 3 Microsoft Xbox 360 - All controllers for all consoles will be wireless. This is good and bad...the bad is that you'll need to recharge the controller batteries (y helo thar, PSP). - Here are the pictures of the consoles at this point. They aren't the final design, but this is pretty much what it's going to look like. Revolution (hasn't been seen yet, these pics are rumors, but are probably real) www.nintendo.co.jp/n10/e3_2005/revo/large_img/revo_6l.jpgPS3 (thought the Spider-Man movie font was fake...turns out it's real) image.com.com/gamespot/images/2005/features/ps3inandout/ps3inandout_screen001.jpgXbox 360 screenshots.teamxbox.com/gallery/1141/Xbox-360/p1/- Nintendo's coming out with the Game Boy Advance Micro, which in my opinion is a waste of time. It's just a smaller GBA. image.com.com/gamespot/images/2005/news/05/17/revo_thumb004.jpg- All consoles will have an option to be put either horizontally or vertically against a stand. - New games have been announced for the next-gen consoles. For Xbox 360, these include Halo 3, DOA4, and Perfect Dark Zero. For PS3, games like MGS4, a new GTA, and Killzone 2. Nintendo's being very secretive (as always) about their info, since there's still a couple days left. However, rumors are that a new SSB, a new Zelda (not the GC one), and a new Metroid (not Prime, the rumor is another series [hopefully third-person =P]). - The new Zelda finally has a complete title. It's going to be called The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Unfortunately for Nintendo, preppy 12-year-olds all across the US will think they're too cool to play a game with "princess" in the subtitle. However, the trailers that have been released so far has convinced me that this game will be the epitome of kickassery in Zelda games. - Most of the new consoles will probably cost too much for anybody to afford, so odds are people will end up having to sell their soul, first-born child, or their freedom to get a hand on one. - Nintendo finally conformed to the other consoles and developed online...for free, right out of the box. I don't really play online, but this seems cool. There was something else I was going to say, but I forgot. I'll be posting my opinions on everything later. If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them.

Xbox 360[/li][li] XBox 360 images are down. [/li][li] I told you Halo 3 was coming! >< Revolution[/li][li] That's awesome, but it looks like my DVD player. I'd get them confused. PS3[/li][li] Not a PS fan, but this may convince me otherwise. >.> On the prices: [/li][li]I'm going to assume $300-$500 for them brand new, so I'll just save up over the summer. $25 a week mowing lawns, 12 weeks. $300, and then the occasional mowing twice in a week (maybe once or twice overall) so $350. I think I'm set. On Zelda: [/li][li] Just think of it as "The Legend of Zelda: TP" Wait, does that mean Link's going to TP the princess's castle? XD On Vertical and Horizontal: [/li][li] As long as it runs as good either way, it'll be helpful. I can only use it horizontally though, so it doesn't matter anyway. On Wireless Controllers: [/li][li] As long as it runs while plugged into charge, and I don't need to change the batteries. Also, its 18th-20th.

Heh, guess so...LoZ:TP. =P Anyway, as for my take on the consoles' design: Revolution: Looks like a toaster/DVD player combo. Hope I can have it make me breakfast in the morning. Nah, it's not bad, and it's the smallest Nintendo console to date. It'll be three thin DVD players stacked onto each other in height. I saw a comparison at IGN of them taking three actual DVD players and covering them in paper, and then comparing it to the GCN. The GCN's height is enormous compared to the Rev. Odds are I'll get this console first. PS3: Can I use it as a refrigerator? Or a tanning bed? Hey, that controller could be a kickass boomerang. Heh, the PS3 looks kind of big...like Xbox big, and I'm not too fond of the controller, but hey, I haven't actually held it yet so I won't know. If I have enough cash, I'll get this after I get the Rev...either that or buy a PS2 and hope the PS3's price drops after a few months. The reason I want this is because of PS's HUGE library of games and third-party support (duh). Xbox 360: Holy sh*t, I think this thing might be bigger than the average person. IT COULD CRUSH YOUR BONES. Just kidding, but seriously, Microsoft obviously wants to hold their title as having the biggest-ass console in history. I have to say it is the sleekest of the three consoles, and it looks like they improved the controller from the hulking thing that was the original Xbox one (not the S-type), and just looks very high-tech overall. But due to it having the least amount of first-party games that I'm interested in, I probably won't get this since PS3'll have the biggest third-party support. If I ever do get this, it'll probably be last unless I hear something at E3 which might change my mind (who knows). As for the GBA Micro, as I said before, a waste of time. Nintendo's already released the DS, we don't want a smaller GBA...the SP's small enough. Whatever. I might get a PS2 in the meanwhile and wait for the PS3's price to drop...I'm still wondering about this, though. And I'm still here for questions. >_> ... Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one thing that I wanted to stand out (which is why I put so many spaces in): FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN This comes out this September on DVD and PSP UMD disc. I was kinda...not impressed by it, but I watched a couple of trailers and IT'S AWESOME. I just hope they hire GOOD American voice actors. Anyway, from all the trailers, here's what I gathered: FFVII:AC takes place two years after the final battle with Sephiroth (he's still alive, by the way). A new disease has spread, called Geostigma, where your body's overworked from purging the evil/bad stuff in your body. Cloud's one of the ones who has this disease. Anyway, Sephiroth isn't the only villain this time (in fact, you only see him like once or twice so far). Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo are three guys with silver hair (shorter than Sephiroth's, though) who also are infused with Jenova's cells. They also think Jenova's their mother, and want to call a reunion (the Reunion) to revive her, I think. They're after Cloud for various reasons, I guess...they still think he has Jenova's head (they need all her parts to initiate the Reunion, which means having all the people who are infused with Jenova's cells/have Geostigma there, as well). You see Kadaj most of the time, I think. There's also a guy in a wheelchair who's covered in a white blanket, who's in the severe stages of Geostigma. No one knows who he is, but rumor has it he may be Hojo or Rufus, or someone else. So yeah, that's part of it. Oh yeah, during one of the trailers, Kadaj summons Bahamut, WHO GOES APESH*T ON MIDGAR. Then you see the whole FFVII crew try to kick his ass. So far, you see most of the FFVII characters (whether that be in present time or one of Cloud's flashbacks [i.e. Aeris]), except for Cait Sith, I think. So far it looks pretty awesome.

Rev: Cool new nintendo look. mmm..... toast and Zelda in the morning. Maybe it will accidentally splice the toast and the game and I'll fight as toast with a butterknife (yes shadowyone, I took your joke. eat toast crumbs).
PS3: Too big and shouldn't be round. But the controller needs to be sent back to australia, although it is pretty cool looking.
360: Crappy pictures (baaaaaaaad shadowyone), but it still looks kinda cool.
GBAM (pronounced guh-bam): WASTE OF FU**ING TIME!
New Zelda: Awsome........
FFVII:AC..... Bad monkey. Post a link to the trailors.

The Japanese site: www.square-enix.co.jp/dvd/ff7ac/The North American site: na.square-enix.com/dvd/ff7ac/While they both have trailers, they're not the same, and have different footage, so check both of them out. That remix of One Winged Angel during the trailers is awesome. Oh yeah, as for next-gen, Nintendo's also going to have free online service for games right out of the box...using something called WiFi...or something like that.

Sure.
Well, E3's over, and...there wasn't really any new info that came out after the first day. Kind of disappointing. Guess they'll put out more info later in the year.

Nintendo Revolution: eh .. on G4 TechTV, they talked about how it's the size of 3 dvd cases stacked on top of each other. If you check that out, that's small.. The black design looks OK.
Microsoft Xbox 360: Looks pretty nice.
PlayStation 3: Is that Spider-Man font? lol. It looks okay, but I don't care for the roundness.
GBA Micro: Zoten couldn't have said it better.
Why are all next generation consoles vertical? .....

Nah, ShadowyOne, the Rev comes vertical two. It has a stand it comes with to "hold" it up >_> I found these earlier: Color Options for the RevVertical RevolutionAs for the new Metroid, I hope its decent. Metroid Prime was better than Metroid Prime 2, which was good on its own, but the screens looked too much like those of Metroid Prime 2.
