Yeah, I don't know if that's the correct term to use, but I'll stick with the word "gap."
What I mean by "gap," is, well...talking about FFII, III, IV, and VI. I see some people referring to it like this:
FFII/IV FFIII/VI
So, are 2 and 4 the same game...and so are 3 and 6? Or this some sort of Japanese release thing I never got? While we're on the topic of Japanese releases, was FFV really only released in Japan? Is there some sort of hole in the FF series, where there are really only 9 roman numeral games instead of 11? Or am I just confusing myself and everybody here? I'll stop for now.

There's six FF games for the NES and SNES in Japan (I believe) FFI FFII FFIII FFIV FFV FF Mystic Quest And in the US, there's four FFI FFII FFIII FF Mystic Quest FFI (USA) = FFII (Japan) FFII (USA) = FFIV (Japan) FFIII (USA) = FFV (Japan) I tihnk that was it, but I'm not sure. I know FFI and FFIII (Japan) were never released in America, unitl GBA wtih FFI. I don't know about the FFV thing.

Oh...so does that mean that there's more than 11 FF games? Okay, I think I kind of get it now. Thanks.

His name is Tidus, but that doesn't matter.
Its underwater soccer (gatorball really, but I doubt you'd know about that).
Its a CG that starts off the game. Tidus is a start blitzball player (blitzball=the underwater football), like his father. He gets ready to just nail the ball into the goal when Sin, some evil creation thing from another world (beat the game and I'll explain it) destroys his world and takes him to its world. Then you can get the rest from the game.

I don't tihnk that's what he was asking. In every FF game (with one or two exceptions) there's always new characters. SO, there's at least 50 FF games between all the systems.

To Smashey:
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children = A movie that takes place 2 years after the game Final Fantasy VII.
Final Fantasy X = A game created for the Playstation 2. It is in no way a continuation of any Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy X-2 = One of the only true Final Fantasy sequels. The sequel to Final Fantasy X (10).
Final Fantasy VII: Durge of Cerberous (somthing like that) = A game for the Playstation 2(or 3?) where you play as Vincent (One of the FFVII characters) in an 3rd person action game (or is it shooter?).
Final Fantasy games don't continue.
Final Fantasy II isn't a continuation of I. It's a whole different game.

I know how many FF games there are, I was talking about the roman numeral kind. Right now, there are...12 FF games, right (I, II, III, etc., X, X-2, XI)? But, since there were different Japanese releases for the same game name, does that mean that there are really 14 (or 15?) FF roman numeral games total? Just checking. Thanks for the help so far.
And Smashey, what Naruto said was right, and to go along with FFVII, they're making a Final Fantasy VII compilation (not part of the roman numeral series -- the main series), consisting of DoC, BC, and AC (but I'll list everything related to FF7):
Final Fantasy VII (already released -- duh, for the PS1 and PC) Before Crisis - Final Fantasy VII (MOBILE) Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding (MOBILE) Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII (PS2) Final Fantasy VII Tech Demo (PS3) Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII (working title, PSP) Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (movie, PSP/DVD)
