I haven't seen the movie yet, but for some reason I decided to rent this yesterday (well, it was two days ago, but I didn't get a chance to play it until yesterday). Suprisingly, the game play's not just your average hack-and-slash movie spin off. It's like Splinter Cell -- in a way -- and you have to use stealth to get rid of your enemies quicker, and to gain a higher reputation. The higher your reputation (even though it depletes completely after you finish a level), the more enemies will be scared of you -- and the easier you'll knock 'em out.
The adventure sense is pretty fun; the puzzles, the abilities, etc. But the fighting system is seriously flawed. There's no depth, and there are even some inconveniences (some special attacks won't show when you need them, etc.), but it's still fun to kick ass as Batman. And for some reason, gliding by using your cape is really, really addicting.
Unfortunately, the reason it is like every other movie game is because of its length. I mean, I know this isn't an RPG, and I know it's summer so I have more time to play...but two days? Come on. I can't say it's as short as The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, though, because I beat that in two days while barely playing.
It would've been cool if you had more gadgets too, but whatever. There are also two batmobile missions which are pretty fun, as well. But the game's so short it doesn't matter. They really need to take more time into making movie-based games.
Well, now that I typed all that up, I hope someone'll read and respond to it...
...I hope.

That's why I never buy movie games. I prefer games that will take me at least a week to finish the first time through. It does sound like a pretty cool game though.

My friend brought it over and played a bit. Seemed boring. He beat it in a day.

I never play movie video games, I cant get into them. Just regular action/adventure games, sure, but not when they are based off of movies like that.

Yeah, well I rented it (I usually always rent first anyway). The only good movie game that's fun and has actually lasted me a long time is Spider-Man 2. So much for this game, though. =P
