OH NOES THERE'S SECKS IN OUR VIDEO GAMES
Personally, I've never played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas due to lack of a PS2, but from everything I've read, it sounds damn fun. Now Rockstar's gonna lose a lot of money due to some sex scene in the game. At first it was thought to be only a PC hack, meaning the company wasn't responsible, but then you could unlock it via Gameshark in the PS2 version, meaning it was in the original coding...or something.
BUT WHO THE HELL CARES?
GTA:SA had a rating of "Mature," meaning that "Titles rated M [Mature] have content that may be suitable for persons of age 17 and older."
Now aging, crusty politicians have had it changed to be rated "Adults Only," giving it a definition that " Titles rated AO [Adults Only] have content that should only be played by persons 18 years and older."
THE MATURITY GROWTH IN ONE YEAR CAN BE SHOCKING, I KNOW
No. Shut up. There are people who are done with college who'll never be mature enough to play GTA because they're brainwashed by every fucking thing they hear.
Thank you, Hilary Clinton, because now that GTA is AO, meaning some stores won't even carry it, my desire to rape and pillage has ceased. Everyone can now sleep at night, for they can be sure that I won't shoot them up in the morning now that GTA:SA isn't rated M anymore.
ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS PEOPLE PLAY VIDEO GAMES (well, maybe not everyone, but I'm the only person who counts, so everyone else can shut up) IS TO DO THINGS THEY CAN'T IN REAL LIFE. Hence the robbing, prostitution, and police shooting.
Scrapping the sarcasm for a minute, this is just dumb. Now stores and Rockstar are gonna lose profit just because the rating is changed. It won't stop anyone from doing anything violent that their mind was set to do in the first place.
So there's nudity in there. WHOAMG TEH NEKKID CHIX. What, are they gonna go through every game that can Gameshark in some sort of naked code and change the rating to AO? Please, it'll only publicize the games further.
I'm not sure about the AO policy of stores, but I know some don't carry them, meaning that they might have to take SA off the shelves. It's not the game's fault that your kid shot up a bank. STOP USING THINGS AS A SCAPEGOAT.
Now, is there something I'm missing here? Because that's basically what's been said about GTA:SA. Despite if I went off-topic, I was originally going to say that games shouldn't be to blame for what other people are doing. They should be the ones punished.
This is why I should so rule the world.

See? I bet the head of ESRB is a Republican, and somehow blood related to Bush. I bet you.
Oh no, Sex in a M game? You can get a sim naked in the Sims which is either E or T. Woo hoo. Who gives a shit? Do you honestly think a kid above 14 doesn't know this shit already? I mean, come on.

I heard about this, and yeah, it's really stupid. And you're right about the changing games to AO will only publicize the games more. My brother-in-law and a lot of other people I know didn't know about the minigames until they heard it was going to be rated AO.
I did hear that Rockstar is going to remove the minigames and release another version of GTA: SA under an "M" rating, though.

Right. And the ESRB rating on the back of the game says why it is rated what it is rated.

The thing that really pisses me off that I forgot to mention is that it was a sex scene that warranted the AO rating. Sure, all the violence in games in fine. Decapitations, blood explosions, torn limbs, and mutilated bodies get an M rating. Sex automatically bumps it up to AO. Yes, because we all know that sex will emotionally scar and desensitize a kid more than violence would.

So true SO, just like how Republicans scare you.
Seriously though, I mean, come on. Like I said before, who is 14 and doesn't alraeyd know what they'd see? The game could be rated T. Go look at your current news. There's shit about people being raped, shot, murdered, wars, everything that would warrant M or AO. So why not just make it T and save them the trouble?
