Golbez? The evil guy who's trying to take the Crystals? No, but that would be cool, since he's like four times as big as a party member during battle and has to have awesome abilities.
But wow, I haven't posted here in a while. Just for a summary of where I am:
I'm supposed to go to the Sealed Cave. I've had Edge in my party for a while now, I beat Rubicant, but failed to get the Crystals. Cid ended up really being alive, and he fixed up the Falcon so it can fly over the magma of the underworld. Story-wise, this JUST happened, and it's where I am now.
But, that opened up a lot of sidequest opportunities. I went to the Land of Summons and got Asura and Leviathan (spelled Leviatan in this game). Oh yeah, before that, I went to Tomra and got all the items there. After that and the Land of Summons, I went to Sylvan Cave, and found Yang alive, but I can't wake him up (yes, I know I do that later, but I don't have access to the overworld again). I think that's pretty much all I can do now, so I'm going to go to the Sealed Cave next time I play.
Cecil's at level 41, everyone else is at 40, and Rydia is at 39. Yes, Edge is at 40. He started at level 25 when everyone else was about 12 levels ahead of him, but I made him catch up. >_>

Heh, you can do that in any FF game XD I thought you can play as Golbz because of a later event... you'll find out when you have Fu-So-Ya or if you read ahead. Also, good luck XD

Thanks. >_> Well, I went through the Sealed Cave, and then all of a sudden, BAM! That EvilWall dude started kicking my ass. He reminds me a lot of Demon's Gate from FF7. Anyway, the problem wasn't that he was hard, it was that whenever I killed him, he killed one of my party members right before with Crush. I needed everyone to get the same amount of EXP, and he didn't exactly help. I got everyone alive at the end after three tries. =P Then Kain left again. Now I should get FuSoYa (sp?) sometime soon. I started doing some sidequests now that I have complete access to both the entire overworld and underworld. I got Sylph as a summon, and the knife which does 9999 damage when thrown by Edge. It was weird when I had to hit Yang with a pan. After sidequests, I'll go back into Mysidia and go on with the story. Right now, Cecil's at level 45, and Rydia, Edge, and Rosa are at 44. Should I level them up somehow (don't know which places gives good EXP -- I need like 50,000 EXP to level up now), or are they good?

I can't remember right now. Its been a long time since I've played. Best bet is to save, go on with the game, and get EXP there.

All right, an update... I've done ALL sidequests except for getting the Adamant Armor...that's just too damn hard. I know if you use an Alert you'll automatically fight the Pinkpuffs, but after I beat them I never get the Pink Tail (yeah, I know there's a 1/64 chance). Guess I'll have to live without getting it. =P Anyway, as for levels, Kain's at 61, and everyone else is at 60 (meaning I learned Meteo, too). I pretty much have the best equipment, and I went and sold all my useless items (meaning exiting the dungeon via using the Exit spell, but then having to go back manually). That means I have a little over four million gil now (but that'll probably go back to three million after escaping from battles while going to the final boss). And, after about 34-35 hours of playing FFIV, I was ready to go beat it. Well, I went, and I tried...and I failed. Zemus was defeated by FuSoYa and Golbez, but then Zeromus owned them after saying something about the Crystal being eclipsed in the hands of darkness (was he talking about Golbez? Because it works with Cecil). Anyway, I tried fighting Zeromus...about three times, but I keep losing. It's probably because of his Big Bang attack (heh, reminds me of DBZ: Budokai). I know if you steal the Dark Matter from him, it doesn't damage you as much, but Edge SUCKS at stealing. Seriously, he's probably worse at stealing than Zidane was in FFIX when you're trying to get rare items. I keep trying, and it says he can't steal. I don't know how many times I should try, but that's probably the only way I'll stand a chance at beating Zeromus. Wow, this is pretty much the first final boss in an RPG that's given me trouble. =P

I made Naruto give it to me.
I'm not far at all. I just now got rydia. She sucks..... "Grande Guevos".
30 HP? AH
Its not a hard game, just a ..... "ShadowyOne" to level up.
But then I looked through the guide, saw suggested levels, died, saw that one of the next bosses (mommabomb or something) has 11,000 HP as opposed to the first boss with 465 hp. yay.
What with FFII, FFIII and FFIV (FFIII on SNES, FFII from DoS, and this FFIV)? They both have like 12 playable characters..... as opposed to FFI with four per file, FFVII with 10 (actually that is alot), FFIX with *7*, FFX with 7, and so on.

So you're playing now, huh? That's cool. I guess a lot of stuff has been spoiled for you, so I wonder if you mind me talking about the plot more...
And yes, Rydia sucks in the beginning. Actually, your entire party sucks until you get Kain back. But you ALWAYS need to level up. Seriously...always. Otherwise you'll fall behind.
Just remember to get all of Rydia's summons, because most of them rock. Oh yeah, which version are you playing (SNES NA, SNES Japan, or PS Chronicles, or something I missed)? I looked in a guide, and there are a lot of differences between the NA and JP versions of FFIV, but it seems that the Chronicles version has changes from both copies.

The PS Chronicals one, which I hope is the hard version.
I don't mind that you spoiled the plot. It makes no sense to me whatsoever at the moment. All I'm doing is what I did in my first FF (FFX), which is...
HACK AND SLASH
even though its not that type of game, its the type of game I turn it into.
And yeah, how come Kain is so good, but Cecil sucked?
Why do you end up fighting Kain?
Which characters get more commands/skills as they level up?
If I use the item "imp" on Rydia, will she always be able to summon imp, for the rest of the game?

If I use the item "imp" on Rydia, will she always be able to summon imp, for the rest of the game? Yes, Chronicles has the harder version of FFIV, which is basically the Japanese version with a few minor changes and an English translation. Cecil is pretty good throughout the whole game. Kain is good too, but his Jump command will always be stronger than his regular attack (unless you level him up to an extreme number or something), but that takes more than one turn to complete, I guess (or it just takes more time). He's still good, though. Or are you talking about the story? You fight Kain because he's being controlled by Golbez, who is in turn being controlled by Zemus...but you don't find out about Zemus until near the end of the game. Every character that has magic learns some spells. So, that means the only ones who don't are Kain, Yang, and Cid (I think, may have missed one). No, Imp isn't a summon for Rydia. And, to fill in CD's list, here are all the playable characters: Cecil Kain Rosa Rydia Cid Edward Tellah Yang Palom Porom Edge FuSoYa Yeah, I don't know why I'm posting that again, but I am.

no, you answered it all the way i wanted.
so if I leveled cecil up like ten levels (which is impossible, I swear), he would get a spell?
Or can he not learn spells as a dark knight?
