no, you answered it all the way i wanted. so if I leveled cecil up like ten levels (which is impossible, I swear), he would get a spell? Or can he not learn spells as a dark knight? He can't learn spells while he's a Dark Knight...he has 0 MP all the time, doesn't he? Once he gets to be a Paladin, he gets some MP, and eventually learns Cure, Cure2, Esuna, Exit, Sight, and Scan. Edit: Since I was stealing all of CD's glory in this topic, I still have questions. Any tips for Zeromus? Should I really just keep trying to steal the Dark Matter? My attack scheme would be for Cecil and Edge to attack, Kain to Jump, Rydia to summon Bahamut, and Rosa cast Cure4 every turn.

Cecil: Cure2 and Life always. Don't attack unless everyone's at full. Make sure to use the crystal.
Kain: Jump always
Rosa: Keep her alive at all costs. Don't use Cure4 on party, just on one person. Her first, always. Always revive with Life2 before healing someone instead.
Edge: He can steal? O.o Woah..... Just throw the Excalibur, and anything else. Then attack constantly.
Rydia: Summons take longer then Meteo, and Nuke. Use them preferably.

So I DON'T attack with Cecil? Huh, I'll try that. And I'll try that with Edge, and yes, he can steal. As with Rydia, Meteo takes a LONG time to cast; Bahamut isn't as long, but I'll try Flare. Thanks.

Those are the techniques I used. I used Meteo and Nuke constantly, cured wtih Cecil and Rosa, and Edge threw while Kain jumped. I was level 60-60-61 (cecil) -60 -60 My dad was 55 across the board.

Dammit, I still lost. Well, here's my plan from now on...it kind of worked last time, but I still lost...and it's cool that your dad beat it too. Anyway, here's my plan. Have everybody attack until they die (i.e. in two turns, like usually), and try to have either Cecil and Rosa, or Edge and Rosa alive. I kind of want Edge alive, because if he throws his Knife, it'll automatically cause 9999 damage, and throwing darts causes around 4000. I'll have everyone else dead, so I can cure just two people using Cure4. How's that sound? Oh yeah, I still have questions for the story. Who was Zeromus talking about when he said the Crystal is eclipsed in the hands of darkness? Was he talking about Golbez? And is Tellah really dead? You see him with Edward giving the party strength. Or is it just his spirit?

wooh.... I'm at the antlion cave thing. It's not that hard of a game..... yet......
Edward is a little..... wuss.
For now at least.
He'll be pimped out yet, I tells ye.
Tellah didn't level up at all, at least I don't think so.... (so he was level 20 when he left)
Rydia is now level 14, and Cecil is now level 17. Is that good, ShadowyOne?
I'd ask CD but he seems to have a problem with me lately.....

Tellah levels up, but his magic always stays the same, because they don't want you to be able to cast Meteo because 1.) You'll probably kill everything in one hit and 2.) I guess they don't want you casting it 'til he casts it on Golbez. Yeah, your levels are good. What level is Edward at?

woops shoulda put that in there......
He's level 8. I'm not gonna try to make him good, but I'll at least make him level 12 before I go on, just so it doesn't look wierd. I hate having that one character that always sucks, because it brings the whole thing down. Its like "yes I got everyone to the max level! Yes!" "Did you max out Edward?" "@#$%!".
Is the antlion hard?

No, the Antlion's not too bad. Just have Rydia keep summoning Chocobo and Cecil attack, while Edward parries every turn (he's not good for anything).
What really sucks is when you get Edge. He's awesome once leveled up to your party, but he started out at level 25 for me...when the rest of the party was in their high 30's/early 40's (I think it was that -- it was still a large gap). =P
