Actually is was one hour and five minutes for the post above. Now I have two hours and I'm on 2-1 or maybe 2-2.. But yeah, I really need help. I can't beat the Cave Troll. =/ Where's Gandalf when you need him? -_- EDIT: Nevermind I beat him on my second try using a small amount of shotgun ammo. Just give him a few shots, he falls, climb up on him, then cut the parasite. EDIT2: Now I'm stuck in the cabin with the hispanic guy with long hair.. EDIT3: Just beat the guy with the long spine. OMG THIS GAME IS AWESOME.. -cough- Oh yeah, how come they had to take Leon's cool jacket but leave him his weapons? That jacket was cool.. And I got the Punisher pistol..

The jacket was cool, wasn't it? And yeah, defending the cabin kicked ass and fighting Mendez kicked ass, too. Did you get the Punisher for free? Because even if you did, it's not worth it. You'll have access to the Red9 (you should have access to that now) and the Blacktail, which are the two best handguns in the game. I prefer the Red9, but that's up to you. Yeah, the first El Gigante is kinda hard, but you get to fight him again, and then you get to fight two El Gigantes. Wait, did you take the left or right path after the cabin? You should've taken both. If you did, more power to you.

Heh.. I would of.. But I took the one with the two chain saw women.. They were freaky.. Right now I just finished the Ashley mission. I got the Punisher for free and I baught the Blacktail.. Right now I have the starting handgun (I just like it, for some reason I can't give it), Blacktail, Punisher, Shotgun, and semi-automatic rifle.. Should I sell some and buy new ones? If so, which ones?

Aw...should've taken both paths. That's okay, though, it doesn't matter.
And you only need one of each gun type of gun. So, if I were you, I'd sell the Punisher and the Handgun. Keep the SAR, it's the best rifle. If I were you, I'd try out (meaning have a save right before buying, and if you don't like it, go back to that save) the Red9 WITH the stock, because without it, you should just opt for the Blacktail. The stock makes your aim a lot more steady. Plus, the Red9's exclusive is having 5.0 firepower. That's like a freakin' shotgun, almost.
You don't have to buy the TMP, and since you seem to be doing fine without it -- don't. I bought it because I found it to be a nice backup weapon if I was saving ammo. So yeah, try out the Red9 with stock. And try out the Riot Gun, it's better than the Shotgun, but whether or not it's better than the Striker is up to you, but you don't get the Striker 'til later.
Don't forget this though; when you start 4-1, immediately backtrack to this one area that was previously locked. You'll get Ashley back, and she'll open the door. In that room, you'll find some items and money, but you'll also get the Broken Butterfly, which is pretty much the most powerful weapon in the game once upgraded if you don't count the three special weapons you can get after you beat the game once. It's a magnum, meaning that it uses magnum ammo, which is rare. You only get like 55 magnum shots in the entire game, so save up. If you want, when you're low on magnum ammo and don't want to reload, fill up the capacity at the Merchant's. He'll fill up the mag for free. You can only upgrade the capacity six times, though.
My final inventory consisted of this (you don't have to follow this, I just felt like posting it):
- Red9 (handgun) with stock, fully upgraded with exclusive (5.0 firepower) - Striker (shotgun), upgraded a little bit (its exclusive is 100 capacity, but I didn't get that far) - Semi-Auto Rifle with scope and infrared scope (only upgraded capacity; exclusive is 0.40 firing speed) - TMP without stock (only upgraded capacity; but, it's exclusive is 1.8 firepower) - Broken Butterfly (only upgraded a little bit; exclusive is a whopping 50.0 firepower; only thing that surpasses it is the IRL, Handcannon, and CT)

Ah.. So get rid of the handgun and punisher for the Red9, got it. And sadly I already bought the Broken Butterfly.. Waste of money then, eh?
--
Oh.. Is it true you get alternate costumes after beating the game?

Is it true you get alternate costumes after beating the game? Yes, and I guess so. And yes, you get alternate costumes after you beat the game. Leon wears a Raccoon Police Department (R.P.D.) uniform, Ashley wears pants and a shirt (I think) and Ada wears her outfit from Assignment Ada. And I suck at Mercs. Oh well.

My friend played the game when I got it and he got me to 3-2 in 2 hours. Then again he beat it twice and his brother beat it 5 times easy.

Now on 4-1 I need to find the Lion Head to finish the statue.. That's cool. And I tried Assignment Ada last night. Not to get through it, but just to try it out. Ada's not that bad, and the only problem is lack of a shotgun. =P
